What is the right itson alkaline battery for my device?
There are 2 types of Itson alkaline batteries, itsPREMIUM and itsPOWER. itsPREMIUM is more suitable for high-drain devices such as portable Bluetooth speakers and digital cameras. itsPOWER is more suitable for medium- and low-drain devices such as remote controls and torches.
Can I mix different types/brands of batteries?
Unless you're a DJ or a bartender, you shouldn't be mixing anything really, especially not batteries. Mixing batteries causes an imbalance in the energy flow. Some batteries will overcompensate this by discharging faster than usual, which greatly reduces their lifespan.
How do alkaline batteries work?
We’ll try to keep it as simple as possible and not bore you too much.
A battery needs 3 elements to produce electricity:
An anode – the battery’s positive electrode
A cathode – the battery’s negative electrode
An electrolyte - a chemical paste that sits between the anode and cathode
In an alkaline battery, the anode is zinc, the cathode is manganese dioxide and the electrolyte is potassium hydroxide.
When an alkaline battery is inserted into a device, electrons flow from the anode to the cathode through the electrolyte. This creates chemical energy, which is converted into electrical energy by the electrolyte.
